SUMMARY:SALT-CLCP training in Kakuma Refugee camp
DESCRIPTION:The Constellation Facilitation team with Onesmus and Aaliyah will travel to Kakuma refugee camp during the first week of September. They will start the transfer of the SALT-CLCP approach to the team of Faulu productions – who had been inspired by The Constellations Go Girl project. \nFaulu productions is a community based organization based in Kakuma refugee camp (team on the picture). Their mission is empowering and bettering refugee lives through equity\, integrity and inclusion. Their vision is creating a sustainable refugee community where everyone realizes their value and where non-violence \, women rights protection and empowerment are in place. \nThe Faula team intends to mitigate and eradicate the early pregnancy and forced marriage observed from teenagers in most camp based communities. They reached out to The Constellation for inclusion in the Go Girl programme. The Constellation will provide an introductory training in the SALT-CLCP methodology to a team in Kakuma. The methodology will support girls and people around them in finding solutions and establishing behaviour change so that their health and safety are improved. The training will take place from 4-6 September 2023 and will be facilitated by a team of a coach and a facilitator from Kenya\, with experience in the Go Girl project at l’Afrikana in Nairobi.  \nThe Constellation has started the Go Girl project in 2021 in communities in five countries\, where young girls were especially vulnerable during the Covid-19 pandemic and teenage pregnancy and school drop out became a bigger problem.

SUMMARY:SALT-CLCP training AGUIDE - Guinea
DESCRIPTION:The Constellation is providing a SALT-CLCP training in N’Zérékoré\, Guinea\, within the NGO AGUIDE (Association Guinéenne pour le Développement Économique). Participants in the meeting are staff and volunteers of AGUIDE.  \nAGUIDE plans to develop the SALT approach in the implementation of its activities throughout Guinea. The group to be trained is a multi-disciplinary\, multi-skilled team working in several fields: Community Health\, Entrepreneurship and Governance\, Environment and Sanitation\, Rural Economy and Agriculture\, Education and Human Rights.  \nSALT-CLCP Facilitators for this occasion are Pasteur Edmond and Alain Kolie Ouo Ouo (voting member of The Constellation).

Consequently\, children struggle with their studies and lack parental support. However\, the establishment of the Aeta Learning Center sparks newfound optimism. With unwavering determination\, community members contribute their time and effort to building a school from scratch. Through the selfless dedication of volunteer teachers\, the ALC becomes more than just a place of learning—it becomes a sanctuary of opportunity and empowerment.

DESCRIPTION:The Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) and SALT Process in Science and Technology\n\n\nThe Constellation member Nabaraj Adhikari will facilitate a workshop during the EULiST Conference in Vienna.\n\n\nThe Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) and the SALT (Stimulate\, Appreciate\, Learn\, and Transfer) are participatory approaches to community change. These approaches are meant to empower communities\, igniting a spark of self-reliance and resilience and enabling them to take charge of their development outcomes through grassroots action. Therefore\, the CLCP workshop we aim to hold will introduce technology students to the principles and practices of the Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) and SALT (Stimulate\, Appreciate\, Learn\, and Transfer) and explore how these approaches can be applied to understand and develop sustainable\, community-driven technological solutions at the community level.

We believe in the power of love\, solidarity\, and dialogue. We choose peace. We want a world where children can grow up carefree\, where everyone can thrive without limitations. A world where diversity is celebrated\, and everyone has their place. \nJoin us on March 22! \nWe will come together and share in a Circle themed ‘The Big Embrace\,’ guided by We Have the Choice vzw.
