SUMMARY:Workshop on CLCP and SALT Process in Science and Technology
DESCRIPTION:The Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) and SALT Process in Science and Technology\n\n\nThe Constellation member Nabaraj Adhikari will facilitate a workshop during the EULiST Conference in Vienna.\n\n\nThe Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) and the SALT (Stimulate\, Appreciate\, Learn\, and Transfer) are participatory approaches to community change. These approaches are meant to empower communities\, igniting a spark of self-reliance and resilience and enabling them to take charge of their development outcomes through grassroots action. Therefore\, the CLCP workshop we aim to hold will introduce technology students to the principles and practices of the Community Life Competence Process (CLCP) and SALT (Stimulate\, Appreciate\, Learn\, and Transfer) and explore how these approaches can be applied to understand and develop sustainable\, community-driven technological solutions at the community level.

SUMMARY:Shifting Knowledge Power: Pathways towards more equity in learning processes
DESCRIPTION:The international solidarity sector is gradually taking a more proactive approach to local communities by supporting local civil societies. Addressing this burning issue involves localizing aid for strengthening systems and organizations\, as well as questioning partnerships and governance in organizations. \nBut is this sufficient ? \nThe way in which organizations design\, monitor\, and evaluate actions is not neutral and should be also questioned. More specifically\, the methods used in our sector reveal unequal patterns of knowledge production and use that maintain inequality and injustice since they don’t acknowledge all types of knowledge. As a result\, Indigenous communities and other knowledge holders from the global South\, such as women and youth\, are de facto excluded from learning practices. \nHow can affected people be really empowered through recognizing their situated knowledge? How can International solidarity organizations facilitate this process by revisiting their methodologies and learning processes? How can we shift the power in knowledge production and use ? \nSee you on April 20th\, 2023\, to share about your experiences and reflect on practical approaches to bring about change in current practices. \nThe workshop will be held in French\, English and Spanish\, with simultaneous interpretation\, from 12:00 to 14:30 French time. \nRegistration: https://forms.office.com/e/iMZx4a7uL8 (please notice you can select English language on the top of the form). \nThis workshop is taking place within the Social Change Workshop program. It is being held in cooperation with the global Knowledge Management for Development (KM4Dev) community of practice\, the Asia-Pacific Evaluation Association and The Constellation.
